February 4 (well, 2/3 this time around)
« on: February 03, 2007, 03:22:39 PM »
We all know Sunday is a big day.  Millions will be glued to their TVs, unwilling to miss a minute of what has become one of the pivotal celebrations in any good Americans' year.  Almost as important as the main event, the halftime show is bound to leave viewers delighted by the shenanigans of the celebrity performers.  And this year the festivities conclude with a valedictory tailgate party that will allow fans to relive the highlights of the day's play.

Yes, I'm talking about the Puppy Bowl, and, judging from the roster of tomorrow's contenders, this is going to be one extravaganza that no proper FOT should miss.

YES! The kitty cat half-time show is back!!!

Quote
For all the feline fans, the BISSELL KITTY HALF-TIME SHOW is back!  The lively kittens show off their moves on a glittery stage and chase each other around the field.  Tom Petty's performance has nothing on these tiny tabbies and cuddly calicos which prove that watching curious kittens batting around a toy mouse is all the entertainment you need. It's the pick of the litter for halftime shows!

Well, it's true! Right, Forrest*?

*I actually know someone who named her cat Forest Whitakat.

I'll be really watching for Scuba the mutt to overcome his skittish nature and romp to the end zone a few times, but I can easily see Codey the Cockapoo hogging the "Bowl Cam."  I figure Bruin the Mamalute will disappoint - he's not gonna live up to his hype.  Early prediction for MVP: Rascal - it's an obvious choice, but that's where my money's goin'.

My favorite is Kodiak. I love dogs with eyebrows. He looks worried!

I like Bruin--he's an enigma. He seems to hate the whole idea of the contest, and yet, he participates in it. Intriguing.

Also, Cody bears a startling resemblance to this muppet.

This is:
- One of the reasons I keep coming back to this board
- One of the few things that makes me angry that I don't have cable
- One of the greatest things on Netflix

Don't discount Larry's pluck; however, Quesadilla looks like he's ready to throw in the towel already. Perhaps February 5th we'll be treated to a special visit from the ref on the show? It will be my birthday, and that is what I ask for.

I love Bruin but I just know he'll fall asleep within the first 10 minutes.  Raven has the look of a champion but I don't discount Rascal for MVP.  What are the teams exactly?  I cun't figure it out.

I believe it's each beast for itself.

Yeah - it's less like "football" than it's like "kill the man with the ball."
Except there are no men, and no balls (footballs)...
Huh - I guess it's not actually very much like either of them at all, come to think of it.
Soooo... never mind.  Sarah summed it up nicely.

Although there may be a football toy. I hope the under-the-water-bowl camera angle returns this year!

TL can we work on getting some better music for next year? I remember PB3's soundtrack being pretty lame. The damn thing's three hours long and the loop felt like it topped out at 4 minutes max.

I don't know - you didn't find that to be part of the magic?
