Theme music from Firefly by Joss Whedon

This was a "Stop Already" topic but I actually like the theme song from Firefly. I can't speak to the rest of Whedons musical catalog.

Yeah, I get the resistance to Joss Whedon as a personality, but I really liked Dr. Horrible. Maybe just cause I'm really into musicals, but I was really entertained. The plot wasn't anything special, but the numbers were a lot of fun. As for Firefly's theme, its not THAT bad, but once again, I get the annoyance it creates.

Agreed, I really liked Firefly, and was into Buffy in highschool, but I don't go crazy for something just because it's got Whedon's name on it.  I'm more likely to give it a fair shot, but I won't just start singing its praises based on name alone.

I think I only do that with Tom, Appatow, and The UCB.

The Firefly theme song is corny, but it's a TV THEME SONG.  Also, it fit's the show's "western/rebel" theme.
I never saw the musical Buffy episode.
Dr. Horrible was great, especially the first song.

The musical Buffy epidose ("Once More, With Feeling" should be in season 7 if you plan to Netflix it) was actually pretty fun, right up until the last number.  Total misfire.  Just cranks all the energy down to zero.

I don't deify Whedon, but I do like that he writes very good roles for women.

He wrote for Roseanne, which is probably my favorite show ever. No joke.

I'm a fan of Firefly but the theme and cursing in Chinese have always irritated me.

That Firefly song is seriously terrible. It was maybe 15 seconds, and I'd still skip it every time.
