I think that releasing this video will have the opposite effect that they (i.e. the kids) were hoping. This will clearly not harm the mayor's reputation.

Probably not.  The kid who posted the video was just looking for any form of abuse to cry about.  I grew up overweight.  If a kid called me "fatass," I'd offer them a fair fight.  If an adult called me "fatass," I'd insult them right back and try to get them to hit me so I could sue (told you I was a trouble-maker).

If an adult called me "dumbass," he was probably my father and I had probably just done something dumb.

But this seems to support my theory that, if "dumbass" had been used instead of "fatass," the filmmaker's outrage would have been less.

He would even have his own theme song as he took the stage: "Joooooe The Plummmber... went to the blah-blah-blah", as sung to the tune of Bowie's Joe The Lion.

I thought it was funny how the guy who is, I guess, hosting(?) the video is like "What kind of MAYOR calls a kid fatso??"  Maybe it's cause of the area I grew up in, but it seems like calling a kid fatso is one of the least offensive things a mayor can do, as it doesn't even involve extortion or the mafia.
