It's interesting that he posted this just days before her announcement.  While I appreciated his insight, stupid is, in fact, as stupid does, and her media appearances demonstate a lack of knowledge and even curiosity.  I hope her career isn't over so she can continue to divide Republicans.  Personally, I'm hoping that Democrats opebly become a conservative or right-leaning moderate party and a real liberal party emerges.  I'd proudly be a member of the Slightly Silly party.

Pastor Josh, that link is kind of nuts. That guy is trying to claim that the fact that Palin was elected to public office is proof that she's not stupid or crazy! His self-certainty that he's the only reasonable, rational thinker in the world, in combination with his weird, baseless claims comes off as pretty bizarre.

However, he is OTM on the Apocalypse 2012 nonsense.

It's definitely one of his weakest podcasts.  Anyone who's ever been around local politicians knows that the crazy rises to the top.  I see what he's trying to do--ad hominen attacks don't make for policy debate--but his point is off.  A lot of people have trouble with his smugnes, but I find him charming as part of a diet high in skeptical podcasts.  And, like I said, he might be right that her actions make sense giver her weird world view, but she behaves and speaks in ways that seem stupid to an observer.  Talking to your shoes make sense, too, if your worldview is that your pants are out to kill you.  Maybe I did Brian Dunning a disservice by linking to this podcast, but it seems appropriate.  I highly recommend it, however.

I talk to my shoes all the time. Not because I'm paranoid, but because I have no friends.  :(

Wait, this ISN'T happening?

It's weird that people forget that the Aztecs made their little dealie before the switchover to the Gregorian Calendar.

You are a man wise beyond your years, Pastor Josh.

Count me as one of those people. I'm interested in skepticism and when I first discovered the Skeptoid podcast it seemed right up my alley. But after a while whenever I heard this guy's voice I just wanted to throw his glasses on the ground and stomp on them.
