Mighty Boosh on the best show.
« on: July 27, 2009, 02:31:26 PM »
Hi, I listen to TBS every week and I always love the guests.  ;D But I'm really excited about Noel and Julien coming on the show. I've never rung in before but I'm very tempted to this week however I wouldn't know what to say.  :-\

Is anyone here planning to call in? What will you say?

Also just a silly question I suppose but are The Mighty Boosh as popular over in the USA as they are here in England?  :D

No, the Boosh are just starting their publicity blitz here in N. America. They're not well-known at all.

This is how I feel every week.

I'm glad its not just me, also I would most likely make a tit of myself.

Ooooh that so exciting that they are just starting out over there. TMB are very very good live, everyone gets dressed as charaters from the show. When I saw them like I was sitting between 2 Old Greggs hahaha  ;D

I need a place to start with Mighty Boosh. I've watched random episodes on-demand and I feel like I'm missing something.

It's not for everyone.

But how 'bout season 1, episode 1?

Milky Joe episode is hilarious.

Generalization ahead:

I've noticed that Boosh are a lot more popular with women than lots of other cult comedy.  Some ladies I know who recoil in non-laughter at say Tim and Eric are obsessed with Boosh.

Boosh are cute, non-threatening, silly, fashionable, even handsome. Tim and Eric on the other hand...

I suppose I was wondering more if that was the most accessible place to start or not.

I've only seen one episode of THE MIGHTY BOOSH, and that was a while ago. I remember it began with one of the guys in a "jazz trance" and ended with both of them playing in an synth-pop band. It didn't bowl me over, but I thought it was pretty solid and amusing throughout.

Maybe their appearance on the Best Show will make me want to check out more of their stuff, like the Andrew Daly and Robert Popper appearances did.

Well, I did say generalization.  True comedy nerds of any gender, even Hijra, like everything.

By far, Julian Barratt's best role was in Nathan Barley.

Yes, you did! I still had to weigh in.

Now, if we're talking about which pair I'd like to uh, help me bring in the groceries ... I'd have to say the Boosh.

The Milky Joe episode, above, is really funny. The beginning isn't necessarily the funniest, and there's definitely not much continuity to worry about. But I like figuring the show out along with the creators.

I personally would say start with the legend of old gregg or the new sound.

they are probably (in my humble opinion) the best.

I almost forgot nanageddon is very very funny.

hope this helps  ;D
