Isn't that what The Incredibles was?

Have had like 4 people text me today about this, along with the 20 links sent to me on fb etc about it. I can't really put  into words why I don't like it, but yeah, I don't.

Am I weird in being extremely curious why Disney was interested in the Marvel franchise? Or should I just assume it was money? Honestly I'm indifferent about it, I just wonder what the interest in Marvel was.

It's the first step toward comic book store domination.  Today Marvel, tomorrow DC...

I really hope that they don't start censoring content in the books or films.

This is what Disney does!  They buy up things and leave them alone to make them money.  Disney is responsible for Hannah Montana, but Marvel is responsible for Secret Wars 2 and Maximum Clonage.  Disney is also responsible for No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood.  They aren't interested in messing up a good thing.  Time Warner has owned DC forever, and it's been a good thing for them.  Marvel has been in/near bankruptcy since I was in high school precisely because they didn't have a huge company to prop them up.  Maybe they'll have Marvel start making Disney comics, but it's not like all of a sudden Dr. Doom will become cuddly or J. Jonah Jameson will have to quit the Klan.  They won't want to mess up what makes Marvel good.  And, seriously, they are already planning Marvel/Pixar films, which seems like all the justification they need.  We COULD actually have a good FF or Hulk movie.  Who knows?  Maybe this will put a stop to the Namor and Thor movies, too.  (I like the idea of a Thor movie, by the way.)

Exactly.  But now they can do it with actual FF!

You know I actually really appreciate how rational this is. Me and my friend have been joking around all day about the potential Disney/Marvel crossovers just because I think thats everyones initial reaction, lol, but I definitely don't expect Donald Duck swooping in saving Spiderman anytime soon. I'm just really curious to hear their ideas, if any, of what to do with the company.

Essentially, Disney is expanding is reach. In the NYT today, they made the fair point that Marvel is mainly a male demo, and Disney has yet to reach that in its current form. The "Princess" stuff and the "Hanna Montana" stuff is working for the girls, but they need something for boys. Expect some new animated shows.

I hope that Disney stays kind of hands off though....
