Yellow Hat Guy

Tom,

Your show inspired me to look up this guy. X-Force and New Mutants were some of my favorite comics as a kid and whether or not you like Liefeld's art you can't ignore the guy had some influence on other great artists. And if you're going to speak for the arts I think there's more constructive ways than the "you suck" method.  I was shocked not only because of the sheer ludicrousness of the story but of the huge responses it was getting from people on both sides of the fence.

I know almost nothing about comics. BUT,

the guy posted his inscription on the internet and if he hadn't done that no one would have ever known (and maybe that would have been ok). because walking up to an artist and handing them a book isn't that big of a deal. but now, every time the yellow hat guy shows up at a con he's going to be chastised.

ugh. i can't even finish this.

i think what he did (the posting it on the web part) is reprehensible.

I think this is the key to your statement. I agree with you, Liefeld and all that Image comic stuff from the 90's was my favorite stuff as a kid but that's what it's for, 11 year olds. this yellow hatted dunce is not who those comics are for.

though I will say that to this day, regardless of alot of the crap he wrought, Todd Mcfarlane is still one of my favorite comic book artists of all time.
