For two D.C. anti-establishment types, Rollins and MacKaye really sounded like politicians at a press conference with all their "Why do you ask?" and "Who told you that?" defensiveness with Nardwuar.
Ian MacKaye seems, from this interview, like he'd be cool to party with.

Or like a guy who does, I'd bet, 10 interviews a day. I imagine the tedium would get a little stifling.
Perhaps, but I've read plenty of interviews with other folks who probably do that and more without coming across as badly as MacKaye does in the Nardwuar interview. And, of course, we do need to keep in mind that the interview is entirely in step with MacKaye's public persona.
He's a really sweet, genuine dude, and I'm sure he gets tired of answering ANYONE'S questions, much less a coked out Canadian's idea of a joke. I've got the Narduwar DVD, and I like it a lot, but I can only last about 10 min. each time. He's got a rhythm I enjoy, but in very short bursts.
RE: Mackaye, there's just some context that needs to be discussed.
RE: Pecking order for FOT's, I've yet to meet one of you personally, but I'll assume you're good, discourse-driven people, and as long as no attacking/overt personal stuff is brought up, things are fine. Hiearchies. Even on the internet. That's really great!
