OMG!

I got an AWESOME gift in the mails today - Kiemzi made me a neck warmer using hand spun yarn! It is so cool!

I will try and get a pic of it uploaded so y'alls can see, its really nice. I am superduper obsessed with neck warmers and infinity scarves right now, so this is like extra-great for that reason.

Thank you so much Mamacita!

glad you like it, auntie! thanks for organizing the secret santa fun!

I'm starting to wonder if my package made it. My person posted here about being away until after Christmas, but I'm not sure how long after.

Holy Moley - I picked it up last night and THANK YOU SO MUCH masterofsparks!  What a great gift - lots of books, which I love and cannot wait to dig into and tons of other great things beyond!

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

You're welcome! I'm glad it arrived safely. I
hope I was somewhat close on your tastes in books and music.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I wonder if my 2nd package arrived to my Sanatee, or if it was seized by the customs folks in Canadia? (it very well might have been too!)

After a whirlwind trip through customs my gift arrived today and I have to say it was totally worth waiting for.  Courtesy of my FOT Secret Santa the esteemed Emma From Toronto I am now the proud owner of two fabulous wind up robots.  (There are few things I like more than windup robots. If you have a problem with windup robots, you have a  problem with me and also with my mother who was a robot.) In addition the box featured a hand drawn Robot Christmas wish, which explains why Emma got some funny looks from the post office.  Thank you, thank you, thank you Emma, you are full of goodness.

Also, thank you Auntie Christina for putting all of this together and thank you Friends of Tom for being so great.

I am so glad that the spirit of FOT Christmas is still alive. Not looking forward to the doldrums of May when FOT Christmas is far away.

And I think with that poem, I may have to venture to the Fan Fiction thread...

Hey Erech - I just now opened up this box. It had been languishing at the post office for a few days because I didn't have time to go pick it up. It didn't get seized by customs, and I'm REALLY looking forward to sucking back this great big, strong beer.

Also included: a grab bag of weird and wonderful items. I got robots, too, betheboy! Plus, as an extra bonus, the box it all came in had a dick drawn on it. Ain't Christmas wonderful?

Thanks, Erech!

Oh man, I totally didn't draw the dick - yikes. I just recycled a box from the basement, must have not been paying attention.

Next time, I am going to draw 20 dicks though, and hopefully it will become my "thing".

Glad to see I got one over on customs yet again, YEAH!

I love that nonchalant explanation -- like the boxes in everyone's basement all have dicks drawn on them. That has made my night.

Holy smokes, I cleaned up.

Pete graced me with not one, not two, but THREE issues of Michael Kupperman's Tales Designed to Thrizzle, which I've glance at before and loved, but never got around to actually purchasing.  So great.

"Is that all?" you might ask.  Well, it would certainly be enough, but NO!  It is not all!!!

Pete also gave me Matt Kindt's Super Spy and 3 Story: The Secret History of the Giant Man.  Great, great stuff.  Deep and rich and everything grown-up graphic novels should be.

"Well, that's quite a collection," you might say.  You would say that and you would be right.  But Pete is not done yet, folks!

My package also included DVDs of Brad Bird's Iron Giant and Sir Norm MacDonald's Dirty Work.   Mind-bogglingly incongruous when paired?  Welcome additions to my home video library?  Yes and yes.

And the whole shebang came with a handwritten letter making it all the more special.

Thank you so much, Pete.  You rock the most.  I love it all.  Happy New Year to you and yours.

What if a Gathering of the FOT was accompanied by a FOT Christmas in July? Opening gifts in person = 10x more awesome!
