Let's use this thread to post our plans for the final day of the decade. What's going on?

I'm having dinner at my apartment with six friends. We're having a two-and-a-half course meal (in honor of Charlie Sheen! not really):

Hello-and-welcome snack and drink: crostini with duck liver mousse / Rotari rosé bubbly
Main course: rack of lamb with some kind of gratin as the side
Dessert: elderberries sorbet in champagne glasses, which are then filled with bubbly (inspired by Nigella)

Then we're off to a bigger party at my cousin's. I feel good about this! It will be fun!

And up until midnight tonight, when 2009 changes into 2010, remember to say this to your fellow man: "Gott Slut!"

I plan to make a couple of champagne cocktails for myself tonight, which will otherwise likely be spent worrying about a nor'easter that's supposed to obliterate us over the weekend.

Me and 4 friends are going to have some thoroughly PG-13 fun by hanging out at the Clocktower here till the clock strikes midnight, then all going to my house to watch Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and playing games. It sounds more PG, actually. Whatever, as usual we'll make it a blast!

Today I'll be watching my husband get an MRI. This evening's festivities will involve driving him around to various parties we're going to, praying his herniated disc behaves itself so he can end the evening in peace instead of writing/screaming in pain. Good stuff. This has been going on for a month now. The second worst thing to being in pain is watching someone in pain.

I don't recognize this as the final day of the decade; for me, the decade ends at the end of next year. Just like last century ended on 12/31/00, not 12/31/99. So I'm taking it easy. Next year I'll blow it out.

Respect!  Cheeseballs would say that it's worse for someone else to be in pain, but that's both a) patronizing and b) inhuman.

Change of plans:  It was too slippery for me to walk to the store today, so no champagne for me.  I've made pizza and cinnamon rolls instead.  Apparently, one of my New Year's resolutions is to get even fatter in 2010.  (It's good to have realistic goals.)

Slingin' espresso drinks til about 10:30 then champagning it up at home with my best friend. Not too exciting, I know, but I'm not unhappy about it. (though I think we're both secretly hoping that some people who are at the hot n happenin' rock show in town will come over afterwards and join us ...)
