Help us win Chase Community Giving on Facebook!

Lexington Children's Theatre is one of 100 small or local charities that has the opportunity to win a Million Dollar Grant from Chase Community Giving (http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/) on Facebook. All you need to do to help is have a Facebook account.

Starting January 15th, the voting will begin and will last until approximately February 1st.  Our proposal for what we would do with the grant will be posted on January 8th.  We are one of 4 theatres in this challenge and we are the only organization competing from Kentucky.

You can only vote for each organization once but you will get 5 votes. So, you can vote for us and 4 other charities of your choosing or, you can trade votes with people on Facebook or Twitter (#chasegiving) to obtain more votes for your favorite charity. It's a really wonderful opportunity for everyone involved.

If there is an organization you would like to trade votes for, please post them here in this thread. I will make a list and we will make sure that the votes get exchanged. When the voting goes live, I will post a link on this thread that will take you to our voting page and after you vote for us, we will vote for you!

The Theatre I Work For winning Chase Community Giving is like Ted Leo winning the Shorty Awards!

Here's all you need to do:

1) Sign into Facebook.
2) Click on this link http://apps.facebook.com/chasecommunitygiving/charities/662899.
3) Click on the "Vote" button.

That's it!  You will have 4 extra votes to vote for one of the other 99 organizations, and you can also trade those for my organization. Just let me know if you're willing to trade or you know someone who has votes to trade.

This really is an amazing thing. I am making a few videos this weekend with some of our kids, and I'm definitely throwing a BS reference or two in there, so DO IT FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF FOT! One million dollars is a lot of money!

Thanks to all the FOT who voted for my theatre. I wrote a nice long note about it on FB but I just wanted to say here that you guys are awesome and I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. We finished 49th out of 100 but out of the 5 theatres, we had the most votes.

The 100K winners are:

An advisory board will be sharing more money with certain non-profits so, we might actually get some more but really this contest has already made me learn so much about helping people and how much my friends are helpful in my life. So thank you, FOT!
