Advise: "222" vs "Feelin' Kinda Patton"

This was already discussed a little in the thread about The Onion AV Club's best comedy albums of the decade, but.  I'm thinking I finally need to invest in either Patton Oswalt's "222" or "Feelin' Kinda Patton".  I know that "222" is the longer set, but I've also heard that it's formatted as just one long track per cd rather than being separated, and have heard mixed reports about the additional material.  Y'all seem like people who would know: which version do you prefer?  Is the unedited set worth seeking out?

I'm something like 95% sure that a couple of my all-time favorite Patton bits (like the bitter Irish tour bus guide) appear on 222 but not Feelin' Kinda Patton, which is a good reason to pick up the former.

We really enjoy 222 in this house, but we are insane complete-ists here.  if you do decide to buy 222, may I suggest also checking out the following EP's

I haven't heard Feelin' Kinda Patton to compare, but I can't see why you wouldn't want to have the whole set. It is, unfortunately, formatted as one single track per disc, but you can easily fix this yourself with a minimum amount of effort.

You can't go wrong with either choice. "Feelin' Kind of Patton" is definitely the cream of the crop, but "222" feels like an organic show and is completely enjoyable. "222" has early versions of material that appears on "Werewolves and Lollypops".

What did you guys think of "My Weakness is Strong"? It's a great album and showcases a little bit more mature side of Patton. It's actually been nominated for a Grammy.

222 all the way. Although Werewolves and Lollypops is his best work in my opinion.

Both of them are interesting listening experiences.  'Feeling...' is much tighter as an album but '222' really has to be heard.  It's like a great director's cut to a great movie.  Plus, as it's been mentioned, it's got early versions of jokes heard later. 

'Werewolves and Lolipops' is easily his best work, though.  It's got all my favorite jokes of his.  KFC, the Shatner story, the Lucas/prequels joke, etc.   

I still haven't checked out his EPs and I need to.

No, I thought it was by far his best. 
Frankly it was PFT's new album that disappointed me somewhat, at least compared to his previous one.

One of my favorite comedy albums ever.  I think the hawk/rat story borders on Raymond Carver-quality storytelling.  And the same can be said about the angry magician bit.

"bummed out" might be extreme, but slightly disappointed wouldn't be inaccurate.  i thought it was a big mistake to play the comedy central special the sunday before the cd was released.  I would have bought it if I hadn't heard it first.  I hate to even say this stuff, because Patton is one of the sharpest, funniest comedians ever.  I have both "feelin' kinda patton" and "222", plus all the EPs.  I got the Robert Evans audio book for christmas, just because he said it was funny!
