Speaking of lack of charisma, what ever happened to Yakov Smirnov's nephew? (or was it his son...i cant remember)

Nephew.  Akira.  Many were convinced he was Steinberg.  I had forgotten all about him.  Thus, unsurprisingly, the dangling of his plot thread troubles me nought.

Akira Smirnov tested poorly*, and like all Best Show "threads" or "sketches" or "skits", Tom cut the fat.  He decided to listen to increasing listener demand for drug references and began to develop his growing cast of "junky" callers. Thus the emergence of "Fred" and that guy that says "man" a lot.




*Almost as poorly as Sam Seder

The guy that says "man" a lot is "Pete." And he called several times during the marathon asking for me (I declined). Of course, he didn't pledge. In retrospect, I probably should have taken his call. Maybe I could have talked a few bucks out of him for the station. Well, I'm sure I'll get another chance the next time he calls.

That said, you've got to admire the timing of this, given the kerfuffle raised by my correction in the weather post.
