It's at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square. I'd recommend getting tix at the box office if at all possible to avoid the wallet-raping $10 per ticket convenience fee.

I went to see them in Boston last year, and they do a meet and greet with fans after the show. It was totally worth meeting them, and they'll sign whatever you've got, so bring stuff!

What a fun night.  Friend of the show John Hodgman was in attendance.

I saw Mr. Hodgman, too. Couldn't bring myself to approach him, though. "Hey, do you remember me skulking around the WFMU studios that one night?" If I'm not mistaken, he was wearing a Best Show hoodie.

The whole show was really awesome, including the "10 minute" warm up with David "Gruber" Allen, J. Elvis Weinstein's "just the good parts" radio station, and Frank's rendition of "Convoluted Man". It was especially great meeting them after the show, even though I couldn't spit out anything more clever than "great show!" MST3K is one of those things I fell in love with about three seconds after I started watching it, and it still cracks me up almost 20 years later.

I think the main reason why it was so good is, despite the fact that it was essentially a show about making fun of crappy movies, it managed to come from a not-mean place. There was something goofy and innocent about it, particularly in the Joel years.

I am  that I didn't go ... I dawdled and didn't get tickets, and then when I went back through ticketfucker they SEEMED to be sold out. They don't say they're sold out, there just aren't any tickets available if you ask for pretty much any thing, in any price range.

Me too. I still watch it regularly. For all the love poured over it, I still think it was underrated. A lot of people never got it - have you ever tried to get someone into the show, and they just stare at the screen, not really sure what's going on?

Many, many times. Well, not that many, actually. Maybe four or five.

It's funny cause before the show, I saw Hodgman in the lobby. When I got back to my seat, I told my friend Elliott, who's a writer for the Daily Show, and Elliott went on to explain that Hodgman always pretends to bully him when he sees him, because he thinks there's nothing funnier than one nerd bullying another.

Then I looked up to see Hodgman, sitting in his VIP seat in the balcony, giving Elliott the middle finger. It was pretty amazing.

I thought the show was great, though not as holy-crap-hilarious as when I saw them riff "East Meets Watts" in Boston last year. That one was incredible. And getting to meet them all after the show, they're the nicest dudes. (Though Joel signed my box set sideways. But whatever, it makes it unique!)

And last night I watched an MST3K episode on Netflix instant, "Final Sacrifice," which I'd never seen before. It's from the Sci-Fi era, which I think is my favorite, and it was one of the best episodes I've ever seen.

That's one of the best ones from the Mike era - neck deep in riffs 'n jokes: "Rowsdower?"

I definitely have, but selectively. I realize that, as much as I love it, it's just not for everybody. It requires a lot of stamina, for one thing, to sit through a 90-minute show about horrible movies.
