I just hope Beckham and Pele have good Cups. And Uri Gellar. He's a soccer player, right?

Something tells me Spoony does not care for Uri Gellar.

We've got ten people in the league so far - all dudes, I'm fairly sure!

There's plenty of time if you still want to to join: the first deadline is Friday morning.

Just send me a direct message with your email address and I'll get an invite to you.

Play! It'll be fun!

I have never played any sort of fontasy sports game before. What, never? No, never! I have NO idea what I am doing. FUN!

We are playing for cash, right?

Yeah, and you're already down $200!

DAMNIT!! It's probably $400 now.

A friend I grew up with was just interviewed on NPR after analyzing Goldman Sachs 2010 World Cup Research Report. It's available for download (see my second link) and it sounds like an interesting read.

The NPR interview is here: http://www.npr.org/templates/player/mediaPlayer.html?action=1&t=1&islist=false&id=127514062&m=127517883

And his original Foreign Policy blog post is here: http://blog.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2010/05/28/goldman_sachs_scores_with_2010_world_cup_research_report

Let's start the predictions:

Winner: Netherlands

Most goals-Golden Boot - Van Persie (Netherlands)

Flameout: Portugal - I say they don't advance to 2d round

Dark Horse: Mexico (final 4)

Nani - OUT!

As a non-supporter of Man U and Portugal, I'm not sorry. As a human being, I'm sorry. It must feel terrible getting sidelined this close to the Cup.

I'm gonna submit my predictions before Friday, but I will say that it would be awesome if Holland did well this year. I'm rooting for them (after France, who probably won't do well at all but you never know; and Spain).
