Spoony's already bent.

There's still a few hours if anyone else wants to join the league. (Ladies? Any of you?). Please send me your email address if you want in.

I have seen a spike (yikes) in people wanting to take part today, I wonder if this has anything to do with El Goodo joining the fold.

Someone dared me to enter. I'm considering it.

I'm a TV-less slob. ESPN3.com will stream all games live but my ISP is not "participating".

Has anyone here used a reliable UK proxy or VPN service to access the BBC/ITV player? Or do you know of any other way to watch the WC online? I know some of the free ad-supported sites and softwares but I'm looking for something with better quality and reliability. I'll happily pay a few bucks for a decent service.

I've posted the code to the other game (pick the winners) in the forum, but there's only 12 hours left. So maybe I will compete against my self.

Thanks for the link, Samir. I already knew of most of those sites. Most of them are geo-restricted and the ones that aren't, are ad-ridden and unreliable. I was only wondering if any FOTs have had experience with any good paid proxy/vpn services. If not, I guess any of those shady live tv streaming sites will do. A new site I've recently discovered (veetle.com) might be the best option that I have so far.

Go USA!

I don't get how this works with the league and I want to beat the hardcore soccer fans here once again... what's the point of the bench? Do I ever have to use those players?

Less than an hour to go to get your team sorted, be quick if you want to make any last minute changes/additions.

The players can be switched to let you pick players who are up against weaker teams and therefore more likely to do well.

Also, the team becomes your core for the rest of the World Cup. You can transfer people on/off your roster but it's limited (after a certain number they start taking points away from you).

I'm playing the fantasy game under the team name "I'd Don't Give A Rip."  I love the World Cup, but I have no idea who any of the players are.  Pure luck is my strategy.

I'm "The Chip Butties". My strategy (for the main 11) was to pick a goalkeeper and defenders from teams in groups which I don't think will have many goals (except Glen Johnson who was picked for being a potential goal scoring defender) and midfielders & strikers in teams I think could score a fair few. No idea if that's how the fantasy points are awarded though, I probably should have read the rules.

I was kind of heartbroken to see Mexico equalize even though it was inevitable. A decisive home victory in the first game would have set an awesome tone.

This is so frustrating! I had Henry starting today and he wasn't even in the game.  Bah.

Also, the ESPN needs to filter out the vuvuzela. I can't take it.
