This is going to drive me to madness punctuated by seizures.

My friend is apparently working on some way to get rid of the vuvuzela noise by some weird EQ setup.

I like how Henry of all people just got mad about an alleged handball.

Question: so, I can't just make substitutions to my starting 11 without being deducted points? I had a couple of players taking the field today, which led to some points. But tomorrow, none of them are obviously playing. But when I tried to sub them with players from my bench (no transfers, mind you), the game told me that would cost xx points. But if I'm not allowed to sub people I won't make any points tomorrow! What gives? Or should I consider the points earned today a way to actually make subs, which perhaps not all teams can do at this point?

I don't think I fully understand the rules of this game.

I now understand the rules a little better.

From the rules section:

Quote

Things to note about substitutions

    * If you remove a player who has scored points for your team, these points will be lost. The player cannot be brought back into your team until the next round.

Which was exactly what I was trying to do.

Shoulda gone with the Guardian one, shouldn't I? Much easier to understand.

I really like the layout of this one though. And it's the official one!

No kidding. I don't even like Henry, I don't know why I picked him.  I should have stuck with Crouch.

I went with the strategy of picking the best players and put scrubs on the bench.

Since not that clay mentioned Peter Crouch, I now have to say it again. Crouchy's got his nachos.

It was a very sheepish appeal though I think... Thierry was aware of the irony. He looked philosophical about it.

Let's hope Crouchy has some nachos on hand this evening!

And, let's hope the vuvuzela drown out the four bars of 'The Self Preservation Society' that the (very) unofficial England brass band plod through during every single England game ever.

I figured as much after you went on such a massive scoring binge. I wish the World Cup was like March Madness, where there are days with about 845 games on at once.

Let's admit it, we're all a part of it because of our love for McDonald's and Castrol.

One of the gang I was watching the game with compared him to a dessicated Roger Daltrey.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was just getting ready to make a bunch of substitutions. I guess it's a case of only subbing players who got no/low points and hoping the subs do better.

I also discovered today that the player designated as captain gets his points doubled. I'm guessing you can't change your captain mid-round though.
