The Emmys

Emmy nominations were announced this morning:

Monk's Tony Shaloub nominated again for lead actor.

Archer's H.Jon Benjamin nominated for Best Voice-Over Performance!

Conan's Tonight Show writers get nominated... along with Colbert's, Daily Show's but no Leno or Letterman.

Of course, some quality choices and some lapses in judgement -- you decide which is which.

My comment -- it is strange to see a show like Justified get a nomination for Main Title Theme Music (tangent = this nomination is odd itself, as while Justified's theme music is good, the whole credit sequence seems to be ripped off from True Blood's) and nothing else -- somehow I think if they would notice such a show at all, it would do better all around -- somehow better to be completely ignored than only minorly recognized?  I'm sure the nomination process has much to do with this but anyway...

Other oddball one nomination shows -- Intervention (Picture EDiting for Reality), Bored To Death (Main Title Design), Entourage (ha!!) (Sound Mixing in a Comedy / Half hour Drama / Animation Series -- I guess this also highlights how insane+ridiculous the Emmy categories are),  Fringe (Sound Editing Series) and on and on -- look here:

I'm just glad that Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton got nominated.

My friend (and fellow FOT) Colleen Werthmann got nominated!  Yahoo!
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

I can't believe Nick Offerman didn't get nominated for Parks and Rec.  I also can't believe Community got shut out entirely.

Finally, it's weird that three dudes from Modern Family got nominated but not Ed Oneill, who is clearly the best part of that cast.  Oh well, at least that show is likely to stick around for awhile, unlike Parks and Rec and Community, I fear.

I know. It's a fucking travesty! Community is one of the best sitcoms I've ever watched.
