"ham" was as far as I can tell a slang phrase that started in the "down-south" southern rap circles directly influenced by the events of The Wire. Where if you remember the free drug area Amsterdam-like experiment is misheard as Ham-sterdam by the street folk. So "ham" started to mean in the real world wild, crazy or "off-the-hook". Here it's appropriated by north east-y Jay-Z and midwest Kanye as "Hard As a Mother". The whole beat and style of the rap is very derivative of the southern rap party style.
Also I think it's sorta interesting Kanye mentioned Eli Porter the internet viral star famous for his "I did it" line, only in that internet memes are influencing everything.
