Kanye West & Jay-Z - H.A.M *New Single* 1.11.11

I've listened to this 3 times in a row now.

I have no idea what the fuck is going on.

"ham" was as far as I can tell a slang phrase that started in the "down-south" southern rap circles directly influenced by the events of The Wire. Where if you remember the free drug area Amsterdam-like experiment is misheard as Ham-sterdam by the street folk. So "ham" started to mean in the real world wild, crazy or "off-the-hook". Here it's appropriated by north east-y Jay-Z and midwest Kanye as "Hard As a Mother". The whole beat and style of the rap is very derivative of the southern rap party style.

Also I think it's sorta interesting Kanye mentioned Eli Porter the internet viral star famous for his "I did it" line, only in that internet memes are influencing everything.

Thats all I got.

It's music for playing really loud and remembering the parts of being a teenager that didn't suck.

LEMME SMANG IT- Yung Humma ft Flynt Flossy

I can't stop listening to this song...
a) Yung Humma = Andres 3000 + Milli Vanilli ... really?
b) His label is TURQUOISE JEEP RECORDS.  I didn't misspell anything
c) "Cush contusion"?  "I like do stuff"? "Wild Thornberry"?
d) Flynt Flossy... that mustache
e) this is so frickin' catchy. It's hooked into my brain. Those synth parts in the verses and choruses.
f) No dirty words! the angle of the song certainly is dirty, but this can be played on the radio as is.

I don't think 'Hamsterdam' was a result of being mis-heard. I always thought it was a play on the calling police 'pigs' thing.

Are there any rap songs about respecting the police?

I think Ice-T is going to update his oeuvre on the Pod F. Tompkast, since his realization on CDR Radio that his old message and new message about the police conflict somewhat.

Yeah.  Hamsterdam plays into the same theme as the kid in Homicide who'd never seen the ocean.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!
