Studio 60 on Roosevelt Avenue
« on: September 19, 2011, 04:11:23 PM »
Shameless self promotion time:

I've been doing this utterly pointless feature at Scratchbomb.com called Studio 60 on Roosevelt Avenue. Short version is, it's the Mets' many missteps and foibles reflected through a very Aaron Sorkin-y prism. I thought this might appeal to FOTs, as Studio 60s ridiculousness was sent up by Tom many times on the show.

So now I've collected all of it, including brand new material, in an ebook that you can get from Amazon here. There's a foreword from "Sorkin," commentary on each episode, the never-before-seen, cliffhanger-resolving 13th episode, and a sketch of future season arcs. All for only 99 cents.

If that sounds like it fits into your Venn intersection, please consider purchasing it. If you like it, please review, tweet, Facebook, etc. If not, please be kind. Thanks.

I have started reading it and, man, do you have the Sorkin rhythm DOWN.

And the Yo Yo Ma stuff?  Hilarious.

Thanks! To get into the proper Sorkin creative space, I smashed my face against a mirror.

Why do people feel it necessary to tell such obvious lies about how they got hurt?

"My kid and I were playing basketball and I got hit in the nose."  That happens.  "I was moving some stuff in the garage and a 2x4 (or something less manly for the less manly types) fell and hit me in the nose.  It's embarrassing, but you know."

"I was writing and I hit a mirror hard enough to break my nose."  Noses are not invincible, but everyone who has a nose and a mirror can tell that this doesn't make sense.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

but what else could possibly bring a nose and a mirror into such close proximity? there's absolutely no other explanation!
