Worst Album Covers of 2011

I nominate Drake's "Take Care". I actually consider myself a Drake fan. That being said, who is this for?

Paul, those are all pretty bad (well, I don't mind the Wild Flag one).

I work at a Barnes and Noble in the music section, so my picks are little more... top 40

Off the top of my head, these are my front runners:

The Beastie Boys and Toro Y Moi are bad, but those have been posted so they escape my snark.

The Strokes - Angles
Eye-raping colors.

Selena Gomez - When the Sun Goes Down
This is a terrible concept for a Disney-kid album and the font, photoshop job, and costume are all garish

Limp Bizkit - Golden Cobra
Fred and the boys are back! The first full length with Wes Borland doing his thing! It looks like they let him draw the cover too.

Pictureplane - Thee Physical
I can't think of anything.

And the worst album cover of the year:

Lady Gaga - Born This Way
I glanced at it a couple times before I realized she was the motorcycle. Reminds me of that artist who was popular in the 80s that did all those stupid robot/people/car paintings. I remember a family friend had a giant print of one of them in their basement. Those were lame and so is this. It's not arty, or edgy, or subversive, or even goofy, it's just bad.

Wow. Nice work, Methanolcereal.  Those are all exceptionally horrible.  The Lady Gaga one is particularly ridiculous...almost Spinal Tap-ish.

The world needs more album covers that take M. C. Escher's worn-out gimmick and do it, like, infinitely worse.  Keepin' it fresh with the Strokes!

That album cover is more than a little creepy. She looks like she came straight out of Bugsy Malone.

For me the Limp Bizkit cover wins hands-down. The fact that the band name isn't legible puts it over the top.

Is "gold cobra" Fred Durst's nickname for his weiner or something?

The Toro y Moi one is just gross.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

I kinda like that Strokes cover, but I have a thing for late 70s/ 80s commercial illustration. Haven't listened to them since 2003, though.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.
