The dubious distinction of being baseball's biggest choker no longer belongs to the 2007 New York Mets. And for that I am grateful to the Red Sox.

Now all that needs to happen to make the season complete for me, would be for the Diamondbacks to repeat their victory over the Yankees in the World Series.  I normally would support the Phillies, but I can't think of a better way to commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 than for the Yankees to repeat their humiliating loss to an expansion team, with the eyes of America upon them.

As a former Red Sox fan before greed and corporatism took them over, last night's choke in Balty and triumph in St Pete was de-licious.  The Rays, to paraphrase Pvt. John Winger are "the retched refuse...the underdog...[the] mutts! Here's proof: his nose is cold! But there's no animal that's more faithful, that's more loyal, more loveable than the mutt"

Soaking in a tub of schadenfreude.  I just hope the Rays do it again to the other fatcat bullies.

Having to listen to Red Sox fans go into woe-is-me mode while the highlight of my team's season, 20 years after their last World Series win, was the down-to-the-wire walk-off avoidance of a 100th loss? Tiny violins everywhere.

Anyone else want to see a Braves-Red Sox series to see this issue settled once and for all?
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

That would be like a Best Show with substitute hosts Spike and Larry d Pervison, with the phone lines out.

I guess that I'm glad I don't have a TV that receives broadcasts, because I would have totally watched that which I perceive to be a train wreck of a season from the information I've gathered from co-workers, and then regretted it. My boss was physically ill at the beginning of the week, quite possible because of the Sox losing. I feel better being ignorant, because, while I don't seek it out, I will totally watch if the Sox are on in a restaurant, bar, etc.

I am also a lapsed Red Sox fan who enjoyed the heck out of this collapse.  My interest in the team went steadily down hill once Pedro Martinez was given his walking papers. To me the team became incredibly unlikable and the fans became worse than Yankees fans at the height of their team's successes.  What makes Red Sox fans even worse is that they still think they're the little guy.  That said, I think the choke made me want to follow next year's team a little more closely...provided they get rid of Theo Epstein, JD Drew, Dice-K, John Lackey, Carl Crawford, JD Drew again, David Arias, and Josh Beckett....and JD Drew one more time for good luck.
Can I use the "F-word", Tom?

Papelbon 125 Auto Commercial

Because Tom talked about these kinds of ads on last week's show.

Yes. My people. My accent. As Jen Kirkman said..."regional pride". ugh.  I wish I had cable, I wouldn't be so deprived of such local delights.  I bet he's not carpooling in that disgusting tank either, typical Red Sock.

Bingo. Plus the obnoxious marketing during games and the fake banter made games unwatchable. Last time I went to Fenway I wore a Devil Rays hat (a team that was always in last place at the time) as a kinda joke and caught shit for it...a last place team. They were playing the O's that night. These kids telling me what's up when I've been going to games since Ralph Houk was the manager. Ralph Houk.

Go Rays

We've Got What You Need!

Another Red Sox auto dealer commercial. This one is actually pretty funny and has a surprising cameo so I'm not even sure why I'm posting it.
