Are you in a moostashe friendly city?
« on: September 30, 2011, 12:19:23 PM »
The American Mustache Institute names the top 10 most bestest moostashe friendly cities.

Jason, Huntsville is at #9!

I will give you a hint who's number #1 ... it's a Very Tough City.

Hooray for Huntsville. Maybe this newly granted status will convince John Hodgman to add a Huntsville stop to his book-tour?

I was furious to learn that there is no European Mustache Institute.

I love how prosaic the website is. It looks like somebody's super-boring politics blog.

The links from that site include a lot of meh, faux-"manly" ironicness, but this one actually has some pretty good stuff: http://www.badassoftheweek.com

I gave their write-up of Joe Medicine Crow a look and found myself rather enthralled.  As Tom is not one to pass up a challenge, I suggest that as soon as he has achieved proficiency in the dark arts, he try accomplishing the four tasks required to become a War Chief of the Crow Indians ("chump" may be substituted for "enemy" in all of the following):

1. Leading a successful war party on a raid
2. Capturing an enemy's weapon
3. Touching an enemy without killing him
4. Stealing an enemy's horse

(No determination yet as to whether the rules permit the assistance of demons.)

I remember him from the Ken Burns doc - he's awesome.

Another total badass from the same doc is Daniel Inouye. Holy shit. Plus, his kid was in a Dischord band!

I appear to be moostashe-adjacent.
