Looking forward to: "The Avengers" albeit with some trepidation. From what I gather it looks like there's a lot of stuff going on in it which could easily be to the movie's detriment...

NOT looking forward to: The next Batman movie. Sorry, folks, I thought "The Dark Knight Returns" was overly long and eventually started to bore the shit out of me. At one point I looked at my watch (never a good sign in a movie) and realized I still had another forty five minutes to endure and seriously considered whether I should just leave... I would have liked it much more had they cut out the Two-Face subplot, which would have trimmed the movie to probably around two hours...

Also, it looks like the new Batman has multiple villains. This is almost always a bad sign. The only time it ever worked was on the "Batman" tv show where you had The Joker, The Penguin, Catwoman (the Julie Newmar version) and The Riddler (The superior Frank Gorshin Riddler, not the inferior John Astin version)....

It didn't work that well there either--have you tried to watch any of those shows recently?

Honestly, no. I haven't watched the old "Batman" tv show in ages. I would imagine it's quite stupid. But the show had a campiness the self-serious movies lack so, provided I could re-connect with that, I might be able to tolerate it.

I'm usually a sucker for comic book movies but I really have no disire to see The Amazing Spiderman.

If the phrase "Zapped meets Cloverfield" wasn't in the pitch meeting, I'll be shocked.

I am a sucker for a red band trailer - just watched the one for 21 Jump Street, and ... I still don't want to see it.

Yeah, me too.  I hate it when you can't tell why the trailer is red band

Like the scene where Dennis Hooper and Isabella Rossellini crack up after Hopper yells "baby wants to fuck"?

Oh, and PS:

Somewhere out there the world's biggest cock is waiting for this idea to suck it... Or maybe for "Jack and Jill" to suck it...

ON THE ROAD.  I wouldn't say I'm excited, but I am looking forward to finally seeing a big screen version.  I mean, I've only been waiting 20 years.  And Viggo Mortensen as the William S. Burroughs?  That will probably either make or break the movie for me.

Ugh... I fucking hated that book...
