Tuesday's Wurster call was brillian! The drummer of the band, Flesh wrote a book title Pound Of Flesh

As someone who is writing book, I thought the the call was absolutely brilliant. Not only does it poke fun out the out of control rock n roll party lifestyle, but it pokes fun at the rock stars who exploit it. Finally, we find out that none of it was true and everyone mentioned in book are dead.

I'm curious to find out about the stolen blimp incident.

Hey Everybody.  First post for me here at the forum.  I got started with the Gems a couple of years ago, and have been a weekly listener / full show archive addict for a year now.
This call is amazing, and when I found out its connection to the Peter Criss book, I checked out a copy at the local library.  I think its safe to say that most fans of the Best Show will also love From Makeup to Breakup.  It actually reads sometimes like a crazy parody of a rock bio with all its over the top sleazy details.  That ridiculous "hospital" scene from the call is actually pretty closely based on a part from the book.
The only downside is that now whenever I come across the phrase "Spoiler Alert", it brings up a very, very disturbing mental image.

This was a good call.

I've noticed a pattern wherein the best non-recurring character calls seem to be from guys promoting books (Flesh, Springsteen, Tony Torgvort), schemes (Trickstar), or systems of some kind (Jarrett, the Weight-Loss Kid).
If I tried, I could probably make at least six figures for shaking my moneymaker.

Yeah, I loved the "anti-rock bio" call for Roadie Rage where there are tons of wild details about the guy's life but he leaves them all out of the book.  Vincent Bugliosi should have given his son some pointers.

I believe the off-the-cuff Soaker call (a top 10 moment) was also touting a book.
