The "I'm Having a Horrible Day at Work" thread

Anyone else?

I’m leaving my current job (glorified office work) on Friday. I’ve been working here for a year—my first job out of college—and have been plotting my escape since last November. I’m excited for my new job starting in August and the cross-country move that it will require, but this last week is proving to be SO MISERABLE. My bosses keep giving me new projects that “have” to get done and are angry that I’m accepting new assignments with less than a grin, in addition to tying up any and all loose ends before I go.

The irony is, for the majority of my time here, there simply wasn’t enough work for me to do, and I would amuse myself by staring blankly at an Excel document and listening to “Best Show” archives.

Sorry, I don’t mean to sound like a spoiled brat, but I feel totally overwhelmed by all of this and will feel incredibly guilty if I don’t get it all done.  I’ve been coming in early, staying late and skipping lunch breaks, but it’s just not enough time.  I feel like the world’s worst employee!

 :'(

Oh you think you've got it bad!
I lost track of time and just missed Judge Judy.

this has been a brutal day out here on the jobsite as well.  I got about $500,000 worth of change orders (in 4 documents) in the last week and trying to keep everything straight is maddening.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

I have had the usual run of folsk who are being sued or evicted. No death threats today, realatively quiet.

My last day of this is June 15th, I can hardly wait.

Susannah, don't let them bully you.  For whatever reason (are they really mad you're leaving?), your bosses are deliberately being pricks.  And if there was ever a time when there's no need to stand for it, this is it.  You're leaving, so you really can more or less tell them to go to hell.  Don't let your natural inclination to do a good job make it easier for them to screw you.

I'm so sorry that so many other FOTs had bad days at work too...we shouldn't stand for it!

I hope tomorrow is a better day for everyone.

Number one rule of any job: Never skip lunch.  If your job lets you skip lunch, makes you skip lunch, or makes you feel like you should skip lunch, they are a bunch of jerks and you should quit.  Which means you're doing the right thing by leaving they're fascist asses!

my job is actually incredibly relaxed and casual, it was just a pain to lose my metro card.

not that this is something to be bragged about, but at least one day a week I end up working double that many hours in a day and I can't remember the last time I worked less than 10 on a weekday.

edit: excluding days with company meetings or golf tournaments

Maybe I'm just a slacker.
or your parents loved you enough and instilled you with an adequate sense of self-worth.
