Sorry for the delay.
Things we did in Milwaukee --
1) I had a butter burger at Solly's. Followed it up with some custard at Kopp's. Both were superb!
2) Walked around the Riverwalk and saw that Fonz statue.
3) Hit up the Public Market
4) Went to a game at Miller Field. It was Cubs/Brewers. Cubs fans are THE WORST. Saw a Brewers fan throw up repeatedly in the bleachers and didn't leave at all. Stayed the rest of the game and drank more later.
5) Drove through Whitefish Bay (our hotel was in whatever you call your far northwestern corner on Rt. 100) and then down the Lake Shore from there. So beautiful. Stopped at the Alterra on the park and had some coffee. The lake is so amazing.
6) Had some bratwurst on Old 3rd or whatever it's called -- it was at a bar right next to Usinger's.
7) Walked up and down Brady Street. Hung out at some dive bar for a while since it was pouring rain.

Bopped around Riverwest and then the Eastside for a while. We ended up hanging out at that bowling alley on North Street.
9) Did all of this while driving around w/ WMSC on the radio.
That is what we did. It doesn't sound much on paper but that's Milwaukee's charm. It's just a great place that is so completely unpretentious. Everyone we met was really nice and they're truly thrilled when you tell them how great a city it is.
It reminds me so much of my beloved Philadelphia! First, MKE's dedication to disgusting meats equals ours. Second, it has the "overshadowed by bigger, more important cities only minutes away" thing. Third, and this is related to two, it has a ridiculous amount of pride -- there's a t-shirt stand at the Public Market that was almost exactly like this place we have in Philly that has local novelty T-shirts with neighborhood names and sports references. Fourth, it's just filled with salt-of-the-earth folks who just want to have fun with their family and friends above pretty much anything else.
It's legitimately the only other city I've visited that I could see myself living in one day. If for some reason I need a completely life overhaul and I don't want to hole myself up in some wooded compound than MKE is where it will be at.
I love it so much and am already talking it up to everyone I know.
