You're kind of all over the place here, son. I've read your post a couple times and can't figure out what you actually want. The Best Show to return to the radio or be a podcast? Tom to have a TV show? The Best Show to be a TV show?

Somehow, someone was convinced to produce The Animal, Paul Blart, Mad TV, Brickleberry, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Midnite...the list of comedy dreck goes on for days.
Are you seriously questioning why someone would have produced PAUL BLART: MALL COP? Kevin James was the star of a top-five sitcom at the time. Leno's "Tonight Show" was a license to print money for NBC for two decades. "@Midnight" was initially picked up for a one-month trial, is insanely cheap to produce, and gets huge ratings.

And yet something with a PROVEN track record gets shut down?  And why?  Because it wasn't based off of some podcast?  So you're telling me if Tom rents a couple of rooms in someone's building like Scott Aukerman, IFC is good to go?  Look, I'm not knocking Comedy Bang Bang.  I like it.  I listen to it all the time.  But it's inferior comedy to the Best Show.
Never before realized that showbiz isn't a meritocracy  :'(

He is clearly just venting his feelings about the best show.  I don't think it really merits mocking him or being generally cruel.  We are all aware that the money frequently goes to business minded projects that seem financially solvent, shows like Big Bang Theory and the Mall Cop movie.  So quit being jerks.

Ever do nothing and gain nothing from it?
Ever feel stupid and then know that you really are?
Ever think you're smart and then find out you aren't?
Ever play the fool and then find out that you're worse?

Not sure what Vance is up to these days, but I'd be more than happy to do a talkin' Hawkwind podcast with him.

A few weeks old, but it was good to hear Julie Klausner and Jake Fogelnest bemoan the ending of the best show/talk about  how its ridiculous that the best show cant find a new home.   This was on HOW WAS YOUR WEEK 2/28.

I don't know. You'd probably have to clear it with the ball and chain first.

The Best Show can't find a new home?  Or the Best Show hasn't found a new home?  Those mean two very different things

I was talking to a friend of mine who has a friend who is "close to Tom" and my friend's friend said that the return of the Best Show on WFMU is imminent. It was nice to hear, so hang on kiddo'!

Probably it won't be on WFMU but the name of the show is "The Best Show on WFMU", right?

Here's the latest via Tom's facebook...

I just want to do the show again. Is that so hard? Apparently it is. Any and all NYC/NJ based people will access to studios with phone lines/equipment please drop me a line. Serious people only, thanks.

Oh my god, please let it be so. Of course I want whatever is best for Tom et al but I have been missing the show more than ever this week. I can't even listen to other podcasts anymore as it's simply a whole other league, a different medium. I feel like the existence of the Best Show kept everything else afloat. I mean, AV Club doesn't seem to even do PodMass anymore. Because what's the point?
