A new Best Show Playlist thread
« on: December 17, 2014, 05:12:58 PM »
There was a thread from last year, but it seems appropriate to start a new one.

12/16/2014

The New Pornographers "Ballad of a Comeback Kid" (Electric Version)
Ty Segall "The Connection Man" (Manipulator)
Thee Oh Sees "Encrypted Bounce" (Drop)
Straight Arrows "Fruit of the Forest" / "Can't Stand It" (Rising)
Elvis Presley "If I Can Dream" (Elvis: '68 Comeback Special)

Grand Funk Railroad "Sin's A Good Man's Brother" (Closer to Home)

Cock Sparrer "We're Coming Back" (Shock Troops)

Here's a Spotify playlist, for those inclined: http://open.spotify.com/user/jouster/playlist/4GZ6yuUpcxbMJn3kaYx5ar. It is a collaborative playlist, so feel free to add tracks as the show continues.

Are the first songs cut off? I didn't hear the Elvis song or any of those first batch of songs last night?

FWIW, I emailed Tom today suggesting that he include a music playlist for each episode on the website, given that the music wasn't going to be in the podcast version of the show.  He said that's something they were going to add hopefully in the next few weeks.

That would be awesome.

The period at the end of the sentence was screwing up the link. This should work:

This is welcome news! I will continue to do it until then, I guess.

Thanks for starting this, josh c. Usually I try to (on a good night) call out each artist/song that Tom is playing, but there are always the one or two tracks that I can't pick out/name. Nice to have these playlists to refer back to. Not that we FoT are obsessive or anything.
