Behind the scenes of Billy Crystals Jazzman character
« on: January 27, 2015, 01:37:06 PM »
Note: I'm not in anyway encouraging people to listen to Opie and Anthony. I find them just as disgusting as everyone else but I found this clip while searching for  Louie CK bits on youtube.

Apparently Louie CK was there the night that the Jazzman made his debut. He describes how horrified everyone backstage was. The discussion starts at 53 minutes.

They've done several bits on that over the years and would play that "Can you dig it clip" in certain situations.

They would play the Kelsey Grammer and Michael Richards clips that Tom plays in the collage all the time too.

I honestly find Opie and Anthony pretty disgusting. I'm not bothered by dirty jokes but I can't abide racism or jokes about the physically or mentally handicapped... Not to mention the Neo-Con philosophy.

I only listened to that clip because I like Louie CK. Ugh... sometimes his appearances on that show strain my affection for him.

I was so keen to listen to Louis CK talk about the Jazzman, but i only lasted about two mins into the discussion.

I've heard Opie and Anthony mentioned a lot but had never heard them. I hope i never do again. I'm sure its an interesting discussion, but the sound of those guys voices, coupled with their attitude is just repulsive.

...so there's another couple to go in my own personal hate pit with Adam Carolla and Sting

They do their own version of playing Billy Crystal's jazzman routine and making jokes about it.  Surprise surprise, their commentary ends up being more racist than Crystal's routine itself, if that's even possible.  They actually start making fun of the idea of holding a benefit for Katrina victims, and make up their own scat-kinda song about how it was the people's own fault for not getting out of town soon enough.  Classy stuff.

Made it 3 minutes into that... oof.  Sounds like the tone in a sports bar before a fight breaks out.

Patton's been on there a lot recently too, he said he plans on coming back when they do their "Jocktober" bit in October. They gave Louie a call in show on their channel a long time ago, you kind find it on Youtube.

They joke about Highlights magazine from time to time too.
