Wow I totally had my head in the clouds on your play Grote - I think it closes tomorrow or Friday yeah? I'm totally not going to be able to see it, sad face.

I need to check this thread more often.

No, it's OK, I really don't care.  It's always nice when FOT check out my plays, but that's the thing with plays, they're live.  I have to miss my friends' stuff all the time.  Hopefully I'll have another thing in Seattle soon and it will actually bring me with it, so there's always that.

It goes until June 6, though, so PM me if you want free tickets.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

In mid-August I will be presenting an in-service presentation on the implications of Wolframalpha on mathematics instruction. I will get back to you with a date and time!

Oh, man, my sister and her family are gonna be in town.  Maybe I can get them to cancel.  Can I stay with the FK's?

I know that Wolfram Alpha is awesome. But I just can't figure out how to implement it on a daily basis. Actually, I love typing in what I had for lunch and having it spit out a nutrition label so I guess that's one implementation, however mostly useless and takes a long time to figure out the syntax.

If you podcast this, I will watch/listen to it DFK. It sounds really interesting.

I need ideas for pithy, shitty statements to stitch.
Breakfast- I'm havin' a time
Wheelies- I'm havin' a time
Headlocks- I'm havin' a time
Drunk Tank- not so much a time
George St.- I'm havin' a time
Brenda- I'm havin' a time
Bingo- I'm havin' a time
House Arrest- I'm still havin' a time

Andy, can you get this Slavoj Zizek quote on one embroidment?

Quote
In March 2003, Rumsfeld engaged in a little bit of amateur philosophizing about the relationship between the known and the unknown: "There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know we don't know." What he forgot to add was the crucial fourth term: the "unknown knowns," the things we don't know that we know-which is precisely, the Freudian unconscious, the "knowledge which doesn't know itself," as Lacan used to say.

If Rumsfeld thinks that the main dangers in the confrontation with Iraq were the "unknown unknowns," that is, the threats from Saddam whose nature we cannot even suspect, then the Abu Ghraib scandal shows that the main dangers lie in the "unknown knowns" - the disavowed beliefs, suppositions and obscene practices we pretend not to know about, even though they form the background of our public values.

Thus, Bush was wrong. What we get when we see the photos of humiliated Iraqi prisoners is precisely a direct insight into "American values," into the core of an obscene enjoyment that sustains the American way of life.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

In case you're in Malmö on the 24th, I'm DJing at Knackwurst Neon 80 - A night with sausage, beer and music. If anyone has any recommendations for a sausage-themed playlist, I'd love to hear it. The music will be mostly African-Brazilian-Latin stuff, I'm listening a lot to Mulatu Astatke right now so he'll be heavily featured.
