I had a teacher in my high school who taught an outdoor activity class and every year has a reunion for old students of the class (only 40 seniors get in the class every year). There is a ton of drinking which I guess supposedly he doesn't partake in but there are rumors that he's slept with a couple of the girls, all legal age and sober, but definitely his old students. Kind of tubular in my opinion, but most of the people I know who go seem to think it's fine. He still teaches at the school too so the district must think it's ok as well or don't know the full details.

We're not supposed to sleep with our students? Where do YOU live?

I've been hearing a lot of everyone's awful leaving for college breakup stories- someone's friend recently found out that his girlfriend cheated on him with her history teacher the week after graduation.

Oh, Dave.  Though I guess if I wasn't posting under my actual name I could make jokes like this too.

I actually couldn't even imagine stuff like this.  The only really hairy situation I've been in was when I had a student who was doing porn, in like 2005 I think, but that was mostly just awkward for me.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Oh come on, I was just playing. What with all the cousins that I have within driving distance, who has time for students?

Igor Kenk, owner of a shady bike shop in Toronto has been charged with stealing more than 3200 bikes. That puts him in the running for biggest bike thief EVAH! Also, he would "buy" stolen bikes with crack.

For the decade or so that I lived in Toronto, everyone knew that if your bike was stolen, chances were pretty good that you could buy it back from Igor.

Oh man I have so many good Igor stories.

The thing about him is that he's a neighbourhood legend in good ways and bad ways - of course, everyone hates him because he would steal your bike and if you caught him out on it, he'd threaten you with physical violence or chase you out of his creepy cave of a store, but there are some people who still swear he's a good guy. I've had friends who have had him fix their bikes for free, just because he noticed there was something wrong when they rode past him on the street.

Of course, then they would lock up their newly fixed bikes a week later and have them stolen, but all of those people still think he's great.

My stepmom lived right across from Trinity Bellwoods park before Queen West was hipster central, and when Igor first moved into the neighbourhood and was just known as a relentlessly charming eccentric (as opposed to a crazed, hoarding, crack-addict criminal bike-thief mastermind) he kept his bike "collection" in the basement of her house. Eventually it took up so much space that she got suspicious and asked him to move it out, but for like twenty years after that she enjoyed the rare privilege of locking her bike up all over Queen and never ever having it stolen.

Also, I had a garage sale a week before I left for New York, and he gave me $35 for a stack of 10 CDs without looking at the titles or artists.

Shady? Or just dumb? I think it's a Family Guy reference, though I may be wrong.

Sure I"m months and months late in this response, but...

sleeping with students at the college I work at is "highly discouraged" but not actually forbidden, so yeah, every few years someone has a messy divorce, someone else graduates or decides to not return to school, and then "Hey wow!  Didn't he used to be her teacher?"

Phila. man shot because family talked during movie

A South Philadelphia man enraged because a father and son were talking during a Christmas showing of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button took care of the situation when he pulled a .380-caliber gun and shot the father, police said.
