Recent posts on the Criterion forum have also confirmed Linklater's subUrbia,

I remember this as a big piece of junk. Am I mis-remembering? Is it critically admired?

I don't think its a remembered movie at all, and was not critically acclaimed. I would imagine its just something a Linklaters they have access to and are just releasing it for the sake of his name may move units. I would be they would release anything of his if they could, except maybe his remake of Bad News Bears.

That movie was awful!  Terrible!  Linklater is a bum.  I've never been a fan of that guy.  I'm interested in that Orson Welles movie that he's done but I, of course, expect to be disappointed.

Come on not even Slacker or Dazed? Suburbia is a weird choice.

I used to love SubUrbia when I was in 9th grade because... I was in 9th grade. I enjoy it on a nostalgic level. Maybe? I actually haven't put that theory to the test.

Anyway, this movie has never been on DVD, so there's also that.

I was responding to him saying Linklater was a bum, but yeah there is also that.

Aw man, now I feel like a jerk!

You see, one of the things I'm a jerk about is I kinda jump down people's throats if they go "aw man I wish this thing was on DVD" and it IS on DVD. If you searched throughout the internet you'd see me doing this on many other forums. I don't know why I still do it. It doesn't get me anywhere in life. Not fact-checking with amazon.com before making a message board post isn't that big of a character flaw. Nobody likes a know-it-all. Or, a gun-jumper. I was a gun-jumper, with terrible reading comprehension. AND a jerk.

My apologies.

I like know-it-alls, gun-jumpers, Little Polly Perfects, and Jixby - I also like you.

For those who like Ingmar Bergman, the 2-disc Criterion of "The Seventh Seal" comes out on June 16.

Are they seriously doing Last Year at Marienbad as Blue-ray only?  I've still never seen that because it's not on DVD.  & I still don't see Blue-ray as being a sure bet.

It'll be on standard dvd too.

Then, a followup question is, why is the world full of liars?

Benicio del Toro's Cronos has been "confirmed," i.e., teased in the new e-mail newsletter.  I'm very excited that a bio-pic about the lead singer from Venom is finally in the collection.
