I would love to hear The Colonel, Thomas Sharp give a political rant or review something (maybe the recent Democratic Debate.)

've had the bacon candy bar and was actually pretty disappointed in it.

Comcast On Demand currently has an entire Burt Reynolds category in their Free Movies section.  I'd like Tom to review their complete offerings:

Breaking In
Cop and a Half (will Tom like it as much as Roger Ebert?)
The Crew
The End
Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Sex But Were Afraid to Ask
Fuzz
Malone
Semi-Tough
Smokey 1
Smokey 2
White Lightning

I would love to hear Tom's thoughts on the forthcoming Richard Kelly classic Southland Tales.  Did I mention it stars Kevin Smith as a legless veteran?  It's also Movie Boy-approved.

All this Clash talk is making me think I should give them another shot. I've never much been a fan, but I've been turning around on a lot of former EoMoS lately. I like Rock the Casbah, but that's just a catchy disco song and doesn't really seem to have much to do with anything else they did. I think the problem might just be that I'm too much of a loud/classic rock meathead, but I'm willing to give 'em another shot. Can someone recommend a few songs that I might want to start with? Career highlights and such. Thanks!
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Yes, Sarah, I am serious.

Good to know I'm not alone.  I haven't had one in ages, either.  Maybe I'd better remedy that soon.  I wonder what a grilled peanut butter-bacon-chocolate sandwich would be like?  I think Elvis might have approved.

"Rock the Casbah" isn't as much of anomaly as it seems - it's just been so decontextualized by its life as a pop hit that it's sometimes hard to see it as part of the bigger Clash picture.  But if you're truly a "loud/classic rock meathead," I'd sugest starting with their second album, "Give 'Em Enough Rope," since that's the one that they was lambasted by the press for sounding too much like a loud/classic rock record (Sandy Pearlman from Blue Oyster Cult produced it).  I don't really get that criticism (like, why - the guitars are "chunkier" than on the first record?), but since you brought it up, who knows?  It might be a good place to start!
Now write me a receipt so I can tip on outta here...

I didn't care for Darko at all - but the preview for 'Southland Tales' makes me really want to see it. Not that I know what's going on - I just like the imagery and stupidity.

Just buy London Calling. Since the re-release, the original version can be found used for like 4 bucks at times. You will thank me later.

Spanish Bombs
Lost in the Supermarket
Train in Vain
RUDIE CAN'T FAIL
The Guns of Brixton
Clampdown.

All of which are on 'London Calling' - so just follow Dave from Knoxville's advice.

Oh crap. Looks like I have to pretend break up with my pretend boyfriend Seth Rogen. That's okay, I guess, because Seth Rogen was part of the tradition of Girls Crushing and Fantasizing on Average Looking Dudes.

I still think he's damn cute and want to pretend marry him. But, you know, I don't think I want to have his pretend babies if he's going to name our pretend daughter Duela Dent.

Yes, please.  My grandma and I could listen together!
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Thanks for the Clash suggestions, folks. I've heard London Calling before but not Give 'Em Enough Rope, so I think I'll follow that suggestion, especially if there's a chance it'll fulfill my duh-rocker side.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.
