Santa Slack's package just arrived.  I'm very excited, but I will delay gratification till the day.  I may even wait till showtime.

Burt, absolutely bonkers for catnip-filled mouse.

As soon as I walked in the room, he could smell that there was something in the package for him too. Now I am so happy and he is going positively apeshit. This was an AWESOME present, right on the money (on both mine and the cat's gifts). Please reveal yourself to me.

Oh, and THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

Just got mine today.  It didn't even occur to me that I should wait to open it. I tore it open immediately and found "Scharpling's Roadhouse!" I'll wait until after xmas to watch it though just to let some anticipation build.

Thanks to whoever lives in Brooklyn and got this for me.

And to the person who I am Secret Santana to...  although my gift is in no way Best Show related, I think it has the potential for hours and hours of devious fun. Hope you like it.

Thank you Secret Santa from Oklahoma (I have no idea who you are on this board). The organic/vegan sourdough rye with raisins and pecans is delicious, especially with the local raw honey you also sent. But the Debris reissue on vinyl? You shouldn't have, but I'm really glad you did.

 You sir, have outdone yourself.

Your Secret Santa is my Secret Santee, Stan.

That sentence was fun to write.  Now if only I could have worked in the word "queue" without breaking the flow.

I got mine! A book of Thomas Allen photography and a lovely portrait of Jon Wurster. I don't know who you are on the board, but thank you thank you!

Update on my outgoing package: I checked with the post office, and it will be there on Monday!!! I should also note that the post office guy insisted on stamping smiley faces all over it, so you can look forward to that.

Damn damn DAMNATION. I can't get out (still with the pneumonia), so I had to Amazon a much less than optimal gift to the man. I hope to send an auxiliary package after the Christmas day, but, dang, what a let down for me.

Still waiting on my present!

DFK, I give you permission to open both of your presents seeing as how you're unwell. Here's hoping you like at least one of them!

Though he's already been thanked via the email communication, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank dear & brianmichaelweaver, whose Santaing was generous, diverse, and spot-on. Folks: the poster: I am serious: when he is able to get these out to a wider audience, I am certain that world peace will be achieved.

Laurie (and all),

Your note was too convincing. Eleven-year-old Emma from Knoxville will not allow me to open it until the actual day.

Here's a hint who my d00d was: he's already graciously thanked me even though Amazon has not yet delivered what I finally settled on, but what I REALLY wanted to send him was a Revell scale-model Miata full of cash. Damn pneumonia!

Senator Jog,

The Stained Glass Boombox
is beautiful.  My compass is broken, so it took me a moment to piece it together. Heinz Edelmann Manhole Machine? Bicycle Suitcase?  No, wait. Turn it this way.  Yes, indeed. Handmade stuff is the es-hit.

And those 1001 other things  -- I shall read them on the plane back to Seattle.  I'm now sufficiently braced for the remainder of the holiday season.  Strapped in, helmet on.

Thanks again for the thoughtful gifts!

Many thanks, ughwhy, for what I'm sure is an awesome present, although I shan't open it ahead of schedule. Nor shall I look at the card (thanks for the spoiler alert!).

The adhesive that closed the padded envelope had actually become unstuck, but the package still managed to stay inside. It's a christmas miracle!
