Did Gene Simmons call in?  I heard Kip's call...
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

Yes.  After a run of boasting and condescension, Gene wished Tom a fontastic night in which all his fontasies would come true.

Forgot to say this before:  I thought it was mighty generous of TL to mention the board during his acceptance call.  But then that's the kind of guy he is.

The Gene call was pretty terrific.

(dog barking)

Tom: Is that one of your dogs?

Gene: No, it's one of my dragons.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Can we have a discussion about the President of the Los Angeles Chapter of Spike Fans?

absolutely amazing call. There's no way it was Wurster, but was it legit?

I think it was either the guy who played Gus in Rambocky or John Junk.

It wasn't me, but that guy sent a delegate to the L.A. FOT Meet-Up at Birds awhile back to declare his boycott of the Meet-Up in lieu of a formalized written invitation from our organization to the SOS (Slaves of Spike)... an organization I did not know even existed until that night.

Something I've been wondering: When AP Mike answers Spike's calls, does he receive the greeting "Hellloooo Mike"?

Poor Jesse Thorn. He sounded hurt about his award last night.

I don't have any sympathy for Jesse Thorn.  However hurt he gets from Tom, he brings it on himself.  How can he be a smart guy (he clearly is) and a radio personality himself and not understand that EVERYTHING IS JUST FOR THE SAKE OF THE SHOW?

If it were FOR REAL, James would have got the award.  But James was snubbed because that's the best way it could have gone.  Jesse got the award 'cause it was a funny alternative to giving James too much attention (any attention is too much) and I'm sure Tom assumed Jesse would have had a sense of humour about it.

an analogous example is Matthew Perpetua getting thrown in the Hate Pit.  You didn't hear Matthew calling the show and whining and getting all flustered and using his angry hurt tone.  He took his lumps and then became the only person to ever escape from the Hate Pit.  Plus you didn't hear Matthew BAITING Tom to talk about their point of contention on the air.  Every time Jesse brings up the Jesse and Jordan show, Tom tells him he hates Jordan, and Jesse gets hurt every time.  It's Jesse's own fault for bringing it up EVERY TIME HE CALLS.

He WAS the worst caller of 2007, and it's hilarious that he's probably a great guy.
