Tom's Inanimate Friends
« on: February 01, 2008, 06:30:03 PM »
So, like all the other threads I start, there's probably already a topic like this.  I had to post it anyway though.  I want to start a list of Tom's inanimate friends that he has full conversations with:

-Scratchy Record
-ABBA Box

Those are the only 2 I can think of.  There has to be more...  Does Microphone count?

I seem to remember Tom talking to a bird in a costco but maybe I'm on drugs. (not inanimate but still...)

Fast forward 65 years: Tom staggers, the snowglobe with the four figures in it tumbles from his hand as he gasps:

"...ABBAbox..."

If it was a frozen chicken, I think it qualifies.

Or, even better, when Tom does voices for inanimate objects.  Like the chosen fork at picnics:
"You know I'm your fork.  Why didn't you pick me up?  You let someone else get me, Colin."
(9/18/07)
That, and the voice of cookies:
"Don't cry!  Eat!  Eat more cookies!"  (5/22/07)
I simply cannot help laughing during these priceless moments.

I've heard Tom's voice as the voice of my fork ever since.

Tom once had a falling out with his cell phone (it tried to run away) and he did the phone's voice in his high "little kid" voice. this was before the podcast, maybe early '05? When he started talking to the ABBA Box, I was hoping it would talk back like the phone.

I am betting the Abba box's voice is hard to distinguish from Hulk Hogan's.

YOU ARE NOT ON DRUGS.  He was recounting how "a little birdy" told him something about Xbox, I believe, and he couldn't get past how unusual it was that a little birdy was talking to him.
