Here's a mix of some of my favorite suggestions so far and a few personal ones:

Bob Seger - "Hollywood Nights"
Thin Lizzy - "Cowboy Song"
Valerie Carter - "Ooh Child"
Kenny Rogers - "Daytime Friends and Nighttime Lovers" *
Pulp - "Common People"

And one for Dutch:
Charlie Daniels Band - "Still in Saigon"

*I will donate $100 to hear this one live
I was thinking of Thin Lizzy's "Look What the Wind Blew In", but "Cowboy Song" is good too.

Wait, I scratch my earlier nomination for Good Girls Don't and suggest Mott the Hoople's All the Young Dudes.  It's an epic song.  I've been listening to it on the excellent Juno soundtrack and the song really packs the big punch Tom is looking for.

If Tom would consider Mott the Hoople (maybe for the 2009 marathon), might I suggest Hymn for the Dudes? I can barely even imagine what it would be like to have Tom drop to a whisper for "You ain't the nazz.....you're just a buzz.....some kinda.....temporary" before the band roared back in for Tom to scream the last verse.

God, I think I am having some sort of vision

How 'bout the Husker Du cover of Eight Miles High?

or for that big-ass prog epic you've always wanted to belt out, how about
the original King Crimson -or- the cover version by Asia* of The Court Of The Crimson King?

* on Fantasia - Live in Tokyo

Tom.. Would you consider a duet of SHOOP by Salt N Pepa with me? I know the whole song, I promise.

Me: Tom, How much would I need to pledge for you to sing 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago?
Tom: hmmm let's see: 25 times 6 is 150 then add 4. One hundred fifty four dollars. US.
Me: sold!

I wish I'd thought to suggest this earlier, but perhaps for some future Marathon Finale or Best Show episode, I'd like to hear Tom take things to the next level and hit Dolenz where it hurts by doing a cover of Goin' Down.
This may be the year I will disappear.
