I did it!  In less than two weeks, I caught up on the whole thing so far (having been given seasons 1-3 on DVD for X-mess), climaxing in either the most pathetic or most amazing Valentine's Day ever, on which I purchased season four pretty early in the morning, and finished it pretty early in the night, and sort of "denouement-ing" yesterday, as I took advantage of someone I know being gone for the weekend, to stay at their house and get busy on their Comcast OnDemand, to catch completely up on season five in a Friday to Saturday overnight.

I still haven't watched any of this season's Wires.  I want to sit down and view them all in a marathon, a là you, but somehow whenever the right stretch of time looms before me I just haven't had the gumption for it.  I'm planning on having a mild hangover on Thursday, however; maybe that'll be the big day.

Seriously, that is prodigious.  I thought I was impressive watching 5 a week with the Wire reups on on-demand.

I did something like that except what I did was watch Season 1, then randomly catch the latest episode of Season 5 in a hotel room and then fill in the blanks in my mind:

McNulty is gonna get canned and hated on by everyone, or kill himself or something.

The lady-cop lady got ditched by her girlfriend but not before gettin in over her head with an in vitrio fertilization baby thing with her girlfriend ()  but lady cop lady is the one that gave birth, that's why she still gets visitation rights, even though lady cop lady's ex-girlfriend is the one with the money that's why the kid mainly stays with her ().

Holy Smokes!  Sinewy guy that runs everything divorced his fancy wife and is now with McNolte's booty-call D.A.!  WTF

4 years later they finally busted that senator and then he got off by playing to the bleachers.

McNolte and mini-furniture guy became way-tight bros and think they're above the chain of command and now are toying with the entire city in order to crack theWire code on this text message thing, but by the time they figure it out, shit will be out of control and they'll have shit on them.

There's all this stuff about the Baltimore Sun that's just embarrassing and probably everyone wishes it would go away, am I right?

There's different kids now.

Someone hurt Omar's leg but he's still killing people and scaring them.

Season 4 is awesome-good and you should watch it. It has been my favorite season so far. (Haven't seen 5 yet)

Pet duck!?  There was a guy who hung around MICA (Md. Inst. College of Art in Baltimore) that had a pet duck.  Think he may have even been faculty.  I think he was a ceramicist.

Actually John J most of the stuff you talk about happens in season 3 which I'm re-watching.

Also it finally dawned on me where I've seen Prez before it was making me nuts. He was in Singles.

As someone who watched it early on (when it wasn't written about that much), Ive kinda not had to deal with heightened expectations.  What did you think?
