I just got a book* for work that focuses on changes in arts participation. One chapter looks at how young people are using new technology to create art. Among the young gamers, Harry Potter costume makers, and comic book artists quoted in the chapter is Petey (from the pre-cart boy era).
Described as a "quirky thirteen-year old artist," Petey tells the researchers about his participation in "The Best Show," admitting when he first called, "I was kind of a jerk". He then describes his transformation to helping out with the show. The authors bring it to a weak conclusion with "he shares media because other people seem to like what he makes." The FOT website address also shows up in the endnotes.
Way to go, Petey. Is this something that will help out on the college application?
