i've lived a year in LA and the no seasons thing is really nuts. it makes it hard for me to gauge when exactly certain things happened in my memory. it feels like the last year all took place in the summer.

i can't wait to move back to jersey in december and get some much needed snow back into my system

i lived in phoenix for 4 years before moving to memphis and phoenix runs on the same clock.  right now, its still hot during the day and the other 3 seasons are non-existant, occuring in a matter of weeks before summer takes over again...in april.  i love cancer mom, but im glad treatments are coming to an end so (she's healthy and) i can go back home to memphis.

i love memphis.

Seasons are overrated especially when the dominant seasons are ugly. This year in MN we got about a month of spring and we really haven't seen much of fall yet. But, I complain and I stay because it's hard to move away from family.

i hear that a lot.  i wont knock it, but im of the mind that its 2008 and ill never be anywhere without my family.  however, i do acknowledge that a phone call isnt nearly the same as human contact, no matter what.

My wife and I are getting close to having kids and with both of our families in MN it just doesn't seem right to move out of the state. However, my wife is going to be taking her bar this summer so wherever she takes that is going to decide where we are for probably the next 20-30 years. By leaving the state we'd be pretty much starting a new life as just the two of us and whatever kids we have since we have very few friends and family outside of MN. I don't think that's what we want to do, but neither of us really like the benefits of the state itself.

PS located in Jerome, AZ (population: 350).  it used to be a hospital/asylum and that is the original 1926 manual elevator they used when it was the hospital.  it was really fun to use.
