Not that I condone the shenanigans of this guy, but sometimes I think the show needs new enemies to thrive.
I noticed that a lot of FOTs love to hate. That's kind of pathetic.

p.s. dont hate, julie.

He reminded me of the first caller when Tom filled in for an hour on Saturday June 2nd 2007.

There does seem to be a certain demographic of middle-aged white males who do not like Tom.

They are weird.
Hey, I am a middle-aged white male!

Totally thought it was Patton for a second as well.

But, on the WFMU blog, there's a post in one of the video pages by "Ross" asking FMU to cash his "fucking check."

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

My wife despises the best show, but laughs at it despite herself.  There is great humanity in Tom's emotional surges ... but it is lost on casual listeners.  People like Ross are outraged that a community could organically sprout up around someone who lets comedy breath.  It is terrifying to them.

And his whole premise about pay-to-not-play blows. Next.

Maybe he writes for Chunklet.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Ross, you got your kicks from pissing on a show, right at the end, that Tom (and I) felt was something special.

Tom said twice that it looked to be 'one for the ages.'  Right after a show he gave an F.

Two Wurster bits (Bryce and Pudge), a wonderful take on his Beatle-Fest and Flea Market horrors, a great segment on 'losing your cool', and, um, my first call ever.

I was so happy to be a bit part in a great show, and was so looking forward to Tom wrapping it up with a big, big W, but it all went so very sour when you pissed on the whole thing.

What, you simply could not wait three hours for the electronica show coming up next? (which I enjoy myself, but I can't imagine you actually do).  Tom's show must BEGONE!  So that I might piss on the next WFMU show that does not fit my narrow tastes!

You live simply to hate?

Grrrr, if it was all a joke, then the joke is on me.  But I simply don't think Tom would sabotage his own show just to rile fans like me up.

Me Mad?  You Betcha!
Fresh fruit enriches everyone.  Takes the thirst out of everyday time.  A pure whiff of oxygen, painting over a monochrome world in primary colors.  We all know that.  It's why everyone loves fruit.

Fig, don't worry.  Tom turned it around and transformed the stupid call into yet another winning bit.  He is alchemical, like Amadeus!
