The song has been the soundtrack to my life for the last two days.  It's all too appropriate.

Wow, this song is dominating the internet today!  It's Q rating is off the charts.

TL should sell it to Taco Bell.

Edit:  Oh wait, I wasn't thinking about the tapas line.  Tapas being Spanish, that might come of a little weird/racist.

Edit-Edit:  Swap out "tapas" for "chalupas."  Problem solved.

That would throw off the meter, though.

I believe Q ratings are through roofs, not off charts.

I like this quote from The Hold Steady message board:

"i really like ted leo and the pharmacists, but i'm not super into this song.

does this mean there's a new album on the horizon? if so i'm still pretty excited."

What if this was the new sonic direction of Ted and the Rx?

I hope this becomes a new trend in songwriting. It's kind of like a musical version of Asssssscat.

The chorus's been stuck in my head since Tuesday. I keep singing it in my head during office meetings.

It's so catchy it's bizarre. I did not expect it to stick, but it did. I keep whistling "the world is in the turlet, the world is in the turlet, the world is in the turlet and we're all gonna die".

7 inch cover, should it be needed.

Can we write the b-side next week?

Oh, it's needed! I'm super anal about having artwork in iTunes.

Laurie, I have lost days out of my life to this. Have you ever been unable to track down a certain album cover online, and then you have to take a picture of it, but it's not the same? Enraging!

I will one-up you on this: I have bought 7" records of songs I already own on compilation CDs because I prefer to sort them as singles in my iTunes (instead of as a song from such-and-such's Greatest Hits or whatever comp it came from). And what do I do after I buy these records? I scan the labels. And then I use these scans as the iTunes art. Really.

But with fewer references to masturbating.

I have questions for those involved in the recording.

Where was it recorded?

Were you all sitting at your instruments listening to the show while the lyrics were being tossed around?

Were some of the musicians picking at their instruments while listening to the show?  Almost every guitar player I know can't stop absentmindedly picking away once a guitar is in hand.

Any more details for the FOT?
