Dave, ACME is a great album to JSBX? I remember the name changes and the release of the singles collection back in 2007 but I haven't heard anything since then. I'll be checking out the Dusty album in the near future.

I'm listening to this:

It's a great new compilation of early DIY electronic music. I have to say, I'm a big Stones Throw fan. ST puts out fantastic funk compilations and while this is totally different, it's still great.

Japanese pressing!  Which makes no difference as far as I can tell.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

You're my 2-year old's hero. She LOVES ABBA. She knows all their names, and talks to them like their in the room. I got her the "Albums" box set and the "ABBA Scrapbook" which she's looked at so many times, I've had to tape sections of pages back in to the the book.

We are taking an ABBA break, though and listening to Newcleus. My kid also seems to like early-80s electro rap.

Astoundingly beautiful

It is a lovely album.  Has anyone heard the new Retribution Gospel Choir album yet?  I like them, but miss Mimi Parker.  In Metal from 'Things We Lost in the Fire' is wonderful, whenever she sings lead for Low it is usually something special.  I wish she had a side project too.
Sounds like someone was working as a conduit for nature's natural vengeance.  Just like Jesus.  And some of the others.

An unfortunately (though understandably, considering the artist) overlooked great album. Actually, I will vouch for the first 3 or 4 Tull albums as being good-to-great.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Master of Sparks, of course, is correct.

I am listening to some real old stuff too.

It's not rock.

Writing with movie scores as, uh, soundtrack. Dracula by Wojchiech Kilar was too intense, but this Code 46 score by The Free Association is excellent lo-fi soundscape background.

could you describe it more?

I remember I heard something on NPR once in passing about a "quiet beats" subgenre

but I never did the followup on it but the idea of it fascinates me. (not that that's related to what ur talking about)

Bay-area ambient/experimental electronic stuff. Not bad. A little...pedestrian, but it makes for good background music.
