After a week straight of listening to the four records of his I picked up for two bucks each, I can safely say this man is one of the greats with a one-of-a-kind voice and a brilliance for making songs his own. I strongly suggest you check him out if you are a Townes Van Zandt fan.

Picked it up at Armageddon Shop in Providence for $2.50. That place is THE BEST!!! I spent 4 out of 7 days there last week. I justify my spending as stimulating local economy.

Barenaked Ladies - Brian Wilson (Video)

I think these guys are looking for the 'Pleasure Island' concept album also.
Of all the guys, I am one of them.

You've got to also hear the US version of the debut (or the Singles compilation), you can't miss out on "Complete Control" and "(White Man) In Hammersmith Palais".

I agree with this. After reading some of the comments in this thread, I bought the five tracks from the US version that aren't on the UK version and they are substantially stronger than the tracks they replaced. The album may lose some focus as a result of their insertion, but I think it's hard to argue that what results isn't a stronger LP.
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

Some old, but very good, Joe Frank on WMNF HD 3.

Totally digging CCR much more than I thought I would.

Ted Leo - Live At Third Man 12". Good stuff, but that pretty much goes without saying. This has somewhat fulfilled my want of an official live Ted Leo release. A full band live album is still the dream.

Side A is 33 ⅓ RPM, Side B is 45 RPM.

It's nice to spend a day off from work at home.

Even this record, not my favorite, has much to recommend it, and Hideaway is just absolutely soulful and beautiful. That little 2-line bridge is devastatingly under-stated before he revs back up with the "GOODBYE GOODBYE GOODBYE". For my money, every minute of Willy and the Poor Boys is transcendent. Fogerty's second probably only to Neil Young for wrenching great emotional power out of 2 or 3 guitar notes. Listen to the last minute of Effigy, it's effing EPIC.

Probably mentioned it before, but I learned to play guitar playing along with Creedence. Can't tell you how many times I tried to keep with Ramble Tamble and Pagan Baby as I was learning.

Game Theory! I just discovered them about a month ago, and now I'm seeing them everywhere.
Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

Indeed.

It's my belief that people who dislike CCR should be promptly and summarily deported from the United States.
