I love it too.

I like but don't love Real and thought it would have been great if he has a few more Day After Tomorrow-like songs thrown in there. This is my wish granted. A perfect mix of everything I like about his current sound.

I saw him on the Real Gone tour where he played mostly loud songs and then I saw him on the Glitter and Doom tour where he played a knockout show with nearly all of my favorites from all over the place. It seemed like he picked up on his HUGE cult following on the first tour and did it again with the audience in mind. I think he's still having a great time and is happy with the work he is currently creating but he also cares alot about pleasing his fans. It's great when someone can do both almost effortlessly.

I can't go for that (no can do).

Listening to CBS-FM via my office PC while reading the boards and procrastinating reading a medical journal for work.

Generally I'm underwhelmed by Mr. Sultan's body of work, but this is sounding pretty good two tracks in.
Sidenote: I love when you're listening to something on spotify and a commercial comes on with cheesy commercial music and for a second you're like "what are they doing on this track???"

Some Coltrane.

No, just kidding, I'm listening to the new Tom Waits and I don't like it.  I LOVE IT.

Oh, good heavens. I didn’t realize. I send my condolences out to the rest of the O’Connor family.

It's worth the 9 bucks for no ads and mobile connectivity. My Ipod is getting jealous.

Yea, ridiculous that I haven't already. I love streaming as I love the idea of owning as little as possible.

Actually Spotify probably increases my spending on records because it is always at hand when I enter a night-long web of similar artist/influences researching. I have the neverending list of things to buy. Help me.

I'm listening to the newest Dum Dum Girls album.  I really liked the first one but I'm not liking this one very much.  Oh well.

Maron's interview with Carrot Top. I think Carrot Top is an abysmal comedian, but he seems like a hell of a guy. And I'm always willing to give credit to anyone who makes it in stand up, even Dan "Larry the Cable Guy" Whitney. That's gotta be a tough business and if you fail you fail alone. It's not like being in a band where people can say things like "the band sucked, but their guitarist is pretty damned good"...

This is a sharp comp but I've never heard of their proper albums and kinda feel like I don't need to. Am I wrong?
I'll probably go into the wee hours.

That IS a brilliant comp, and the first alb by the Jam I ever owned (bought it on a cassette from Record Town in 1992). There are a lot of really great Jam songs that aren't on that comp though - for instance, "But I'm Different Now;" "I Got By in Time" and the original version of "A Solid Bond in Your Heart." Really, the Jam were a great singles band AND their albums held together well too. I would suggest getting the box set that came out a few years ago - There are essentials on that thing that SNAP! ignores.

Right now, I'm listening to this weird old French prog band, Etron Fou Leloublan.

Etron Fou Leloublan - Le Désastreux Voyage Du Piteux Python

I just finished listening to the 1982 tape from Vic Serf and the Villans (who were another Homosexuals spin-pff group). The name of the album is "Rok Y Roll." Liked it lots:
