I cannot get this to work.  I can save the .m3u file, but that is not worth anything.  Are you sure this works?
Get the "Switch Converter" then pop what you got into it.

Thanks so much for this!  I never knew Switchsound would automatically start downloading the mp3 from a m3u link.   I had been doing this multi-step process each week which involved opening the m3u with Notepad and manually extracting the link, which was way more time-consuming than this.  I'd recommend this to anybody for your Best Show downloading, because you get all the music from the show as well.

Going out on a limb here and saying the big announcement is that Tom got a job and is leaving for the Left Coast.  Either that, or something to do with the new WFMU studio/theatre.

These seem like the two most likely scenarios to me.

Probably not wise to speculate though.

My guess is the former. Good for him but sad for us (if that's what it is!)

I think maybe "Going to California" wasn't coincidence.

"Going to California", along with the first song in Tom's set "Los Angeles" by Gene Clark.

We'll see what happens ... as a fan, I hope the show goes on, even if it gets cut down to once a month or every few months ... but ultimately, Tom knows whats best for Tom.

The Saturday before last, Terre T played "California Über Alles" by the Dead Kennedys.

From this I have deduced:

The Best Show is becoming a podcast on the Nerdist network, the runtime will be reduced to 1 hour, with commercials and no music. It will be co-hosted by Georgio the Human Carpet. The two will share a microphone and be rolled up together in a rug while recording. Also, so you don't miss it on iTunes, the title is changing to Chris Hardwick presents: Nerdist Industries TBS with Georgio the Human Carpet, Tom, and Jonah Ray. Tom will mainly read the latest tech, geek, and video game news while Georgio and Jonah riff on it. AP Mike will take over as host of what will then be called The Breast Show on WFMU with Michael Lisk where he will discuss adult films and have porn stars on. Pledging during the 2014 marathon for the re-tooled show will break the $1,000,000 mark.

Regardless of anything, can we make this happen as a regular show and/or podcast anyway please?

Tom was one of two things keeping me from moving out of the country. I have no more meaning in my life here.

I'm eight shows behind (I know, I know), but following this all on Twitter... it's like I just got punched in the gut. This hurts.

I will say, a nice way to soothe TBSOWFMU's end would be if Scharpling & Wurster got back in the CD game and released a new album of new material. I remember Tom hinting at such a thing on these very boards, but that was in early 2012 and I don't think we've heard anything since.
If I tried, I could probably make at least six figures for shaking my moneymaker.

Thanks for all the laughs Tom! You are the funniest dude on the planet, and even though it sucks that the best show is coming to an end, I can't wait to see what you do next! Wipe the floor with all those hollywood podtrash chumps for the fots!

I would be in way over my head even trying to thank all the amazing people in the best show universe for all the C+ grade laughs (only in comparison to Tom and Jon and Mikes A++ laughs, no offense), so I just want to humbly say THANK YOU to everyone who is reading this, you made this random internet dudes Tuesday night way more fun and exciting!
