Hey fonpr I just listened to the archives and heard you speaking on Han Bennick and Eugene Chadbourne. We need more Fredericks Music Talk.

Are you a Z'ev fan? Jaap Blonk? xJudJudx? Mieskuoro Huutajat?

I do have some Z'ev recordings. Not familiar with the others. I shall investigate.

Speaking of Han, I posted this here years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JL9BrZ-zUpQ

Instrumental comedy. Has a lot more views now.

I saw Eugene Chadbourn (and his daughter) open for They Might Be Giants! in Raleigh in the mid-90s. I saw The Smoking Popes open for Morrissey a year or two later - that was more my speed.
I really don't appreciate your sarcastic, anti-comedy tone, Bro!

You weren't too fond of Molly's performance as I recall.

Had to laugh at the digression about Tom and Jon being the only ones not to see ELO recently. I spotted Jon Daly when I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl.

Did anyone else notice that Tom and the callers seemed to be in a real hurry for the last half of last week's podcast?

I actually like anything that allows me to listen more efficiently, so I ain't complaining.

NB This doesn't show up listening on my computer, only on my phone.

What podcast app are you using? I use Overcast, which I love, but I have accidentally triggered their 'speed-up' option a couple of times.

Yeah, just the Podcast app on my iPhone. I don't listen to anything except Best Show and Best Show-related podcasts.

Also, Haze Davenport's Avalanche Bob impression was outstanding.

I bought this book at a thrift store many years ago.  It's a pretty funny guide to gigs and touring.
I don't think I've ever actually heard the man's music, though.

I really liked that book. Particularly when Eugene responds to the question: "If you're a musician, how come I never heard of you?" by saying, "Because I haven't killed anyone."

I can't take the screams/huuuuhs? anymore. It really sounds like a porn film.

Ha, I thought that too when he first started playing them.
