I always wrote Chinatown since it pretty much became the actual name for it in my mind.

I would always spell the actual word, even if I knew it would be filtered, just in case something like this happened.

Sometimes I used both Chinatown and FOTchan in the same post, for the same reasons. I've honestly never given more thought to anything as meaningless as that.

I thought it was a prank for anyone who typed Bill Hicks (a pretty good comedian) to have it rendered unwittingly as Benny Hill (the worst ever).  This is what happened to me.  Is there more to the story?

I think it was more because people talk about Hicks with such over-the-top reverence.

That's what I figured was going on. Which is probably true, and reminds me of how lots of musicians and comedians are lionized when they die, often out of proportion to their merit or significance, however considerable, when they were alive. (I'm not arguing this phenomenon necessarily occurred with Hicks, of whom I was a big fan.)

I tried to write a post last month about not getting Bill Hicks and thinking he was under-the-top unfunny but I gave up when the post-preview kept changing everything to Benny Hill. Probably for the best.
