Dear Tom,

FOUR times now I tried to make a nice post towards you and your real or pretending not to be real obsession with The Best Show's podcast ranking.  I don't subscribe to it, but I will so please say nothing about that.

If you ranking yourself to be funny, then nevermind. If you are serious, then something nice towards you and your podcast. I listen live, so I don't subscribe to anything. I'm sure many other people listen and aren't counted.

Most sincerely,

Julie

I'll have what she's having (burp). But yeah, I are subscribed to RSS feed. But I don't hardly listen to it, 'cuz it ain't got no songs, and sometimes I like to hear the songz. And so, archive. I'm usually not around to listen live. But remember, a subscription is a vote for Tom, so vote early and subscribe often (belch). I think I subscibed on Itunes as well, but I fuckin' hate Itunes. I will fight you, Itunes! Dutch courage!

I kept trying to post something last night and I kept deleting my post before I posted it. What I was trying to say is that ...

I have no idea what I was trying to say because I barely slept the night before and I had four shots of tequila before I posted that Something about Tom finding a more accurate way to judge himself, I think.

Tom, please find a better way to judge yourself. Your podcast ranking doesn't reflect the number of people who listen to your show. What about the millions of people in NJ who listen live on their radios?

Yeah, Tom is on the airwaves.  Probably more people tune in accidentally than download the #1 podcast.  I say this based on pure speculation but surely there are stats somewhere to support it.

Here's a simple solution: for everyone with iTunes (which is everybody), just subscribe to it. If you don't want to download them because you already heard them and you really are anal about using space, then delete it. But just subscribe! Do it to get this show the attention it deserves.

If people wanna take things a step further, unsubscribe from the other podcasts you normally get that are on the list. Let's kill the competition.

I subscribe but don't listen to it because I want the MUSIC! Is there no way to defeat apple's DRM?

Apple has nothing at all to do with music not being in podcasts.  The music industry's arbitrary distinction between "streaming" and "downloading" (the same thing done with different software) does.

If you want mp3s of the show with the music, check out this thread:
http://www.friendsoftom.com/forum/index.php/topic,3294.0.html

It's a bit more work than downloading a podcast, but the m3u files are usually up on the archive before the podcast is posted, so it might be worth your time.
